Please read section 8 (cancellations), section 12 (risk), and section 13 (liability) carefully. They set out when refunds are due, the risks that come with adventure travel, and the limits of our responsibility. Booking a trip means you accept them.
These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between you and Adventourist Travel LLC (“Adventourist Travel,” “we,” “us”), a New York limited liability company based in the Bronx. They apply when you use our website, create an account, or book a trip, event, or add-on with us. If you do not agree with them, please do not book. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of this agreement.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. When you book for other people, you confirm you have their permission to share their details with us and to accept these terms on their behalf, and you are responsible for payment for the whole party. Travelers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Keep your password private and your contact details current — trip documents, payment reminders, and signature requests go to the email on your account. You are responsible for what happens under your login. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your security page. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or close an account that is used to abuse the site, submit false information, or harass our staff or other travelers.
Booking through the site creates a reservation, not a guaranteed trip. A booking is confirmed when we accept it and your deposit is recorded; until then, availability, dates, and prices can change. Trips have limited capacity and are allocated first come, first served. Some packages are private and bookable only by members we have invited.
Prices are in U.S. dollars, quoted per traveler, and multiplied by the number of travelers on the booking. Unless the package says otherwise, prices do not include airfare, checked-bag fees, visas and entry fees, travel insurance, vaccinations, meals not listed, gratuities, or personal spending. We correct obvious pricing errors: if a price is clearly wrong, we will tell you before confirming and you may cancel for a full refund of anything paid.
Every booking starts with a five-part installment plan by default. The first payment is the deposit and the remaining four fall due monthly, on the schedule shown on your booking page. You may pay faster or in full at any time; we will agree a different schedule in writing where a trip needs one.
Card payments are handled by Stripe on its secure checkout pages. We also record payments made by cash or other agreed methods in person or by phone. Your balance, schedule, and receipts are always visible in your dashboard.
Your booking must be paid in full before departure. If an installment is missed we will contact you. If a payment remains outstanding after we have given you notice, we may cancel the booking and the cancellation charges in section 8 will apply to what you have already paid. Chargebacks or reversals of confirmed payments do not cancel amounts you owe under this agreement.
Extras such as excursions, transfers, meal packages, visa services, and insurance are paid in advance and priced by us at the time of purchase. Some are limited in quantity or available only alongside a specific package. Extras supplied by a third party are subject to that provider's own terms, and once we have booked them on your behalf they generally cannot be refunded.
You are responsible for holding valid travel documents. Most destinations require a passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date, with blank pages, plus any visa, transit permit, proof of onward travel, vaccination certificate, or health declaration that applies to your nationality. Requirements change often; check with the relevant embassy or consulate before you travel. We can help with some visa services as a paid add-on, but we cannot guarantee any government's decision.
The names on your booking must match your passport exactly. If you are denied boarding or entry, or are delayed or removed for missing or incorrect documents, that is treated as a cancellation by you under section 8 and no refund is due. Any airline name-change or reissue fees are yours to pay.
Cancellations must be sent to us in writing at info@adventouristtravel.com and take effect the day we receive them. Charges are based on how far out you cancel:
The deposit is non-refundable in every case.Amounts already paid to third parties on your behalf — airfare, cruise fares, visa fees, event tickets, and similar — are refundable only on that supplier's own terms, which often means not at all. Where a supplier refunds less than the schedule above would give you, the supplier's rules apply to that portion. Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 30 days of the amount being finalized.
Ask us as early as you can. We will do our best to accommodate date changes, traveler swaps, and room changes, and will tell you the supplier fees and price difference before anything is confirmed. A change we cannot make within the supplier's rules is treated as a cancellation.
Occasionally we have to change a trip. Minor changes — a comparable hotel, a reordered itinerary, a different guide or vehicle — do not entitle you to a refund, but we will tell you as soon as we can. If we make a significant change, or cancel a trip because it has not reached its minimum group size or for reasons outside our control, you may choose an alternative trip of similar value, a credit toward future travel, or a refund of what you have paid to us for the affected trip, including the deposit.
We are not responsible for refunding costs you arranged yourself, such as flights booked separately, and we strongly recommend travel insurance to cover them.
We are not liable for failure to perform caused by events we cannot reasonably control — including war, unrest, terrorism, crime, strikes, epidemics and pandemics, government or border action, natural disasters, extreme weather, fire, flood, transport failure, or supplier insolvency. Where such an event prevents a trip from running, we will pass on whatever we can recover from suppliers and offer a credit for the rest wherever possible.
You must tell us about any medical condition, disability, dietary requirement, mobility need, or medication that could affect your travel or the group, and keep that information current in your profile. We will do our best to accommodate you and will share what is necessary with suppliers, but some activities cannot be adapted, and we may decline or end participation where we reasonably believe it is unsafe. Vaccinations and fitness to travel are your responsibility.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every traveler, covering at minimum trip cancellation and interruption, medical treatment and evacuation, and baggage. If you travel without it, you accept the financial consequences yourself.
Our trips involve activities and destinations that carry risks not present in everyday life — remote areas, uneven terrain, water, altitude, wildlife, local transport, variable medical and emergency services, and changing local conditions. You accept those risks voluntarily and take responsibility for your own decisions on the trip. We may ask you to sign a specific waiver, release, or participation agreement for particular activities; signing it electronically through our site is as binding as signing on paper.
For flights, hotels, cruises, ground transport, restaurants, excursions, insurance, and similar services, we act as an agent arranging them on your behalf. Those services are delivered by independent suppliers under their own terms, and we are not liable for their acts, omissions, delays, overbooking, insolvency, or negligence.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with a booking or with this site is limited to the amount you paid us for the trip in question, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost earnings, missed connections you booked yourself, or disappointment. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.
Travel with respect for your group, your guides, and the places you visit, and follow local law and reasonable safety instructions. If your behavior puts people at risk, is unlawful, or seriously disrupts the trip, we may remove you from it. In that case no refund is due and you are responsible for your own costs from that point, including getting home.
Members earn points on qualifying activity and move through loyalty tiers with their own benefits. Points and tiers have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not property. We may adjust how points are earned, what tiers offer, and when points expire, and we may correct or remove points issued in error or earned through abuse. Points and tier status end when an account is closed or a booking is cancelled.
We sometimes photograph or film our trips and may use those images to promote Adventourist Travel, including in our gallery and on social media. Tell your guide or email us if you would prefer not to appear, and we will do our best to accommodate you and will remove an identifiable image on request. If you send us your own photos, reviews, or comments, you allow us to use them for the same purpose with credit where practical, and you confirm they are yours to share.
The content, branding, photographs, and design of this site belong to Adventourist Travel or our licensors, and may not be copied or reused commercially without permission. Do not attempt to break into accounts or systems, scrape the site at scale, interfere with its operation, or use it to send unlawful, misleading, or abusive content. The site is provided as-is; we work to keep information accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it is error-free or uninterrupted.
If something goes wrong during a trip, tell your guide or call us on 917-962-3167 immediately so we have a chance to fix it. Complaints raised after you get home are much harder to resolve, so please also write to us within 30 days of returning. We will always try to settle a dispute informally first.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Bronx County, New York, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it. You may not transfer your booking to someone else without our written agreement. These terms, your booking confirmation, and any waiver you sign are the whole agreement between us.
We may update these terms; the version in effect when you book is the one that governs your trip, and the date at the top shows when this page last changed.
